Costabella Residences in Sierra Cortina, Finestrat, is a set of villas and townhouses where every home has its own pool and garden. The second phase of thirty homes is going up in a residential development. Here a day can end with a swim in your own back garden rather than on a crowded beach.

Dividing the price by the interior with basement alone gives 3988 € per metre for Brisa, 4567 € for Marae and 5261 € for Calypso.

Marae has the lowest metre and Calypso the highest. Still, the choice here is mostly about lifestyle: a compact home with a pool, a large house on three levels or a villa with the biggest garden. The price list has one more detached villa at 795.500 €, with no model named.

What is done for you

Each home gets solar panels and an aerothermal water heater, while ducted air conditioning reaches the living room, kitchen and bedrooms. The aluminium frames are thermally broken and fitted with low-emissivity glass. The kitchen comes with built-in appliances and a quartz or porcelain worktop, and the site has gated access.

The garden is the one thing paid separately: it is handed over as bare soil, and landscaping costs extra. It pays to decide early what goes there: lawn, gravel or Mediterranean plants that need little water.

Two people after a private pool without the upkeep of a big villa: Brisa offers one with two bedrooms. A family with teenagers: Marae and Calypso have enough bedrooms and bathrooms to go round. Anyone who cares about the garden: Calypso's is the biggest on offer here. People who winter here and like a house that heats its own water and spends less on power.

It may not suit anyone who finds stairs hard: all three homes spread daily life over several levels. Nor anyone dreaming of living right by the water: the beach is a drive from here.
