New builds in Benissa

Benissa sits on a hill, 254 metres above sea level. Its municipality is the largest in the Marina Alta, 69.7 km², reaching from the Bèrnia and Ferrer ranges down to the sea. Above the old town rises the neo-Gothic church of the Puríssima Xiqueta: building began in 1902, it opened in 1929, and locally it is known as the Cathedral of the Marina. The old town also has the town hall, in a building from 1790, and the Franciscan monastery of 1613.

Benissa's coast runs for 4 km between the Peñón de Ifach and the Portet de Moraira. Along it lie the Fustera, Pinets, Llobella, Advocat, Baladrar and Les Bassetes coves, linked by an ecological coastal path. In 2026 Baladrar flies the blue flag, and l'Advocat has it for the first time.

The municipality has more than 12,000 residents, 37 in 100 of them foreign nationals, mostly British and German.
