La Nucía lives by sport, and the numbers show it. The Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano sports complex holds more than 80 sports facilities: an Olympic stadium with 2,100 seats built in 2018, pools, tennis and padel courts, a skate park and a BMX track. In 2025 the town hosted 169 sports events. The association ACES Europe has twice named La Nucía a European City of Sport: in 2013 and in 2024.
Residents get more than 40 sports clubs, municipal sports schools for children and six free after-school programmes right in the schools. The town has Elian's British School, teaching in English and Spanish and offering the International Baccalaureate. About 18,600 people live here, almost a third of them foreigners, the British being the largest group. Buyers at the notary are young too: a median age of 45, the lowest of the eleven towns in the area I compare.
New homes are rare here: in a year only about 3.5 in 100 sales were new builds, and almost six in ten purchases are houses rather than flats. My survey currently holds 10 projects in La Nucía, from €349,388, with the most expensive from €1,575,000. Handover: 2026-2028. There are ready homes too.
