El Campello lies on the coast just north of Alicante. By the sea is the Illeta dels Banyets, a former islet joined to the shore almost a century ago. Remains from the Bronze Age, the Iberians and the Romans have been found here, the oldest about 5,000 years old. The Romans left baths and small pools that seawater reached through channels. Next to the marina stands the Torre de la Illeta, built in 1557 against Barbary pirate raids.
Muchavista and Carrer la Mar beaches fly the blue flag in 2026, and Lanuza cove has received it for the first time. Tram line 3 runs here from central Alicante, from Luceros station, and stops at Muchavista.
The town has about 31,400 residents, around a quarter of them foreign nationals. Notaries recorded 748 home sales in a year, 78 of them new builds, about ten in a hundred. Prices across the whole market rose 3.7% in a year, the least of the eleven towns I compare.
