Jávea stretches between two capes. Cap de Sant Antoni has its windmills, and on Cap de la Nau a 20-metre lighthouse has been working since 1928. A route of 15 viewpoints runs between them, and close by is the Montgó, a natural park since 1987.
The coast is varied. By the promenade lies Arenal beach, next to it the calm La Grava, and in Granadella cove the woodland comes almost down to the water. All three fly the blue flag in 2026. The old town gathers around the church of San Bartolomé, which dates back to the 16th century.
About 30,600 people live here, and according to the INE register 44 in 100 are foreign nationals, most of them British.
