Rey Luis I 44 is a finished villa in Finestrat. It is made for people who value space, light, a panorama of the sea from the terraces and a pool of their own with the Puig Campana mountain behind them. You can live here all year or come for the season and each time open a house that is already built and finished. In my view, this house earns its price above all through its architecture and its light.

A white house on the Sea Hills slope

The house stands on the slope of the Sea Hills estate among other private villas. It is a clean white volume with large dark-framed windows and glass balustrades on the terraces that leave the landscape open. In front, beyond the Finestrat valley, the sea stretches to the horizon, and behind it rises the Puig Campana. I have put the other detached homes of the municipality together in all villas in Finestrat.

Pool and terraces

The pool sits on a raised stone base behind glass, so from the water you look over the neighbouring roofs towards the coast. Around it spreads a generous terrace of large pale porcelain tiles, with room for loungers and for a big dining table.

Upstairs there are two more open terraces. Mornings there begin with the valley and the sea in front of you. In the evening it is the best place in the house to welcome friends.

Inside: light and space

The ground floor has almost no partitions: living room, dining area and a kitchen with an island form one bright space. Tall windows open straight onto the terrace. Large pale tiles underfoot, a kitchen in calm sand tones with built-in appliances, and nothing that competes with the sun.

The house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The bedrooms open onto the terraces through sliding doors and have wall-to-wall wardrobes. The bathrooms pair warm stone with wood, with walk-in showers and rain heads. One bedroom is downstairs beside the living room and the rest are upstairs, so hosts and guests live on separate floors.

Who it does not suit

Anyone after a flat right by the water: Sea Hills is a hillside above the coast, not a seafront promenade. Nor anyone who would rather not look after their own garden and pool: this is a private house, not a managed complex.
